Thank You!!!!

Oh my gosh! I'm so speechless after reading all the wonderful things you guys have said about me....I even had a poem written for me (wow!)!!!! I blush just thinking about it and reading them over and over. I am so honored to have family and friends like each and every one of you. I give thanks everyday for all of you especially my wonderful husband who created this site for me. He knows me so well that he created a "place" where all my loved ones could wish me the best on my big 4-0! John, I love you with all of my heart forever and ever!

All year I looked forward to celebrating this big birthday because as you know I LOVE TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY....it's my favorite holiday (tee-hee). But with the turn of my Dad's health in mid-November my birthday meant nothing to me. All I wanted was for my Dad to recover and sing "Happy Birthday" to me like he does every year! It hasn't happened yet but I remind him everyday that he has to exercise those vocal cords so he can sing it to me because it's never to late. Due to my Dad's situation your heartfelt words meant even more to me than you will ever know! Knowing that I have a great support system from friends like you is the best present anyone could give me. Thank you for your love and friendship. "Friends 4 Ever" is the motto I like the best!

To my family....my Dad, Mom, Karen, Keith, Candace, Amy, Summer, Jacobe, Brad, Claudia, Uncle Bob, Shirley, Bruce, Riley, and all of my favorite cousins who I cherish like they were my siblings....thanks for being apart of my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for you! Each and everyone of you have had a great influence in my life! I love you all so much! OXOXOXOXO

Thanks for making my big birthday something special.

For my wife on her 40th birthday, ENJOY! :)

Kendra,

I knew you were someone special the day, er night, I met you 21 years ago to celebrate your 19th birthday! My friend that invited me to your party told me how "cool" and "totally awesome" (hey, it was 1985!) you were and that I would really like you. Little did he know, and much to his dismay I might add, I did really like you. In fact I fell in love with you. So much so, that after knowing you for only 217 days, I asked you to marry me!

I knew you to be a wonderful, thoughful, and loving person then and I still believe that to be true today, as many of your friends and family have attested to below. I know this month has been a little rough to say the least, everybody that knows you loves you and supports you and wants nothing but to help you celebrate your 40th birthday! But in actuality it is not really the 40th anniversary of your birth your family and friends want to celebrate, that is just a day on the calendar that marks a terrific milestone. What we all really want to celebrate is YOU! It doesn't really matter which day you were born, what matters most is that you were born into this world and became a bright and caring light in all of our hearts and (to be a little selfish) more importantly a warm and loving soul that has joined with mine!

Happy 40th Birthday! I'll celebrate you everyday, but on Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 I will celebrate you just a little bit more! :)

I love you so very much!
Your loving and adorning husband, John

For a wonderful and beautiful daughter on her 40th birthday!

Kendra,
You have filled our lives, hearts, and our home with happiness, joy, and your wonderful love. You add so much beauty to the world around you.

You are such a cheerful person who brightens up the lives of everyone around you. Your birthday is the perfect time to remind us of what a wonderful person we think you are. We are so proud of all that you have accomplished in your life and that includes marrying your wonderful husband!

Love,
Mom & Dad

My last message . . .

It's the Eve of Your Big Day . . .

. . . to my precious sister - - on this evening, 27 November as you & I stood by Dad's bedside reminding him that 40 years ago he would bring mother to Alexandria Hospital only hours later to give birth to their third-born.  Ironic, that you will begin the celebration of your 40th birthday at the place where you were born . . . it's not Santa Fe - but, there's something EXTRA special about being here today!

Since I wrote my 'blog' message to you on September 15th - I've followed the loving messages in your honor.  May I tell you that there are no precious gems, or exotic places that will ever compare to the love of your family and friends.  Your gifts are abundant indeed and you are one very blessed "old lady".

Happy Birthday Sister,
Karen

40th Birthday wish for Kendra!

I don't even know where to begin.  If you're turning 40, then we've been friends for 21 years, which has gone by in the blink of an eye.  I remember meeting you our first weeks at Mason...hanging out and getting to know each other...dancing with you to Yaz in Steve's basement the night you met John..(hey, Bealor Woman!)...drinking amaretto sours long before we learned to like wine (!)...navigating DC streets the Kendra way (just find 14th street!)...2 am requests to take out your contact lenses...ski trips and other weekends that shall go without further mention...Sebastian -- OMG!...the spider John had to kill...Godzilla...all of the memories and songs which have unfolded and evolved over the years into the future as we grow old together!  We're not there yet, but having dear friends and family makes it a joyful occurrence as time goes by, and you have been an incredible and special part of my life.  I couldn't have done it without you!  Congratulations on this milestone, and looking forward to the day far, far in the future when we sit on the deck sipping our mint juleps...ok, our wine...and look back on this day and say, gosh, what kids we were!  Love ya with all of my heart.  Bird (aka Juli!)

40th Birthday wish for Kendra!

KB,
& Last but not least…Here goes...
Happy 40th!
Thanks for...the wine I never poured...the dinners I never cooked…the flamingos I never stole...the garlic soup I never ate…and Robertus on high seas!

Too many laughs to count!

You are loved.

Next 40 starts now.  Go get em.  Ready to celebrate anytime!
Happy Birthday!
Bruce

Bee-otch turns 40!! No way!!

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Dear Bee-otch , Happy Birthday to you!!!!  Kendra --- what can I say -- I have known you for 21 years and you have been such a incredible friend and it's all because of a band named Duran Duran.  We were so incredibly bonkers over the same band (still are right?--even though we eventually took down all the posters of "the boys" that filled our rooms way back when-- wow, O.K. now I feel old ha).  We started as pen pals then drove to Quebec using our french language of love and our American charm -- what a blast!!! Je suis.....well, you know the rest.  We were in each others weddings shortly after!! Wish my (ex)husband would've been a prince like John is!! You guys are so great together!! I hope you have the best birthday so far and many, many more!!!  40 is as much fun as 21 the only difference is instead of picking up condoms at the drug store you will pick up Geritol.  Just kidding. Still remember last year when I visited (which is amazing because I am 41 so my memory is starting to fail me ha) and you and John treated me like royality!  I love you guys!! xo xo   LeBon

Happy 40th to my great-minds-think-alike-Cousin!

What a great idea, John, to create a blog for Kendra’s birthday. It’s been fun to read everyone’s good wishes for her. Just look at all these KD fans: family members, friends, colleagues; even “generals.” This is like a chat room. Cool. It’s great to hear your “voice” cousin Liz. We sure missed you at the last reunion. Wish ya’ll still lived on this side of the pond. Brother Dave! Fancy meeting you here! Good to see that you’re still alive and well. We missed you at the last reunion, too. Wendy – you are so smart to be so p.c. about the “favorite cousins.” Of course there’s a birthday wish from Susan and Karen – family pillars – future matriarchs? Hi Shirley, Kendra’s favorite mother-in-law. Haven’t seen you since Uncle Chet’s and Marcine’s 50th anniversary party. Ever since ’89, I associate you with “Love You Forever.” That memory has outlived even the Evans Farm Inn!

Fiddle dee dee, where are my mann’ahs? Am I forgetting anyone? Oops, oh yeah, Kendra. Just kidding (we need a little humor this week). Who could forget you and your big day? You’re gonna love this next decade. There’s something magical about 40. The age seems to give you credibility, wisdom, experience, clout and grace; not to mention mid-life money. Forty also gives you a new-found relationship with reading glasses, crow’s feet, a deepening voice, a touch of stiffness. Nah. You’re a Roland; you’ll figure out a way around all those unpleasantries …. On second thought… I’m a Roland too. Strike that last sentence.

One thing is for certain though, your friends and family all speak with one mind here – you’re a wonderful person and we’re all glad you’re in our lives. I think we all have a common wish and prayer for your birthday – that everyone you love gets whole and stays healthy. Remember: in the good times, and now in the time that tries our souls, love goes deep; our past goes back to the beginning; our blood is thick, semper fi. Happy Birthday Cuz. As Meredith would say, “Happy Burdday Kendwa.” You have so many blessings. In return, you bring joy to your world and make it a happier place. Above all, you, and Karen and Keith make your daddy (and your Uncle Bob) proud.

Love you forever.
One of your many favorite relatives,
Your Ya Ya cousin

Linda
XOXOX

(I would’ve added Steve’s best wishes here, but he said he’d rather write his own. Hmm!)

An Amateur Ode for Kendra’s Birthday

T'was four weeks before Christmas, that’s when you were born.
It’s forty years later but don’t be forlorn.

Think of all those experiences that sparkle like jewels
Like playing Parcheesi with Granny’s weird rules

And drinking crushed grapes for your pallet’s true joy.
Plus, your hubby’s been dubbed as the “fireworks boy.”

You don’t show your age, and you’ve got to be smart;
Your job includes an Intelligence part.

So count all your blessings, they’re more than a few.
With that I will wish Happy Birthday to you.

This poet, yours truly’s too quiet and shy
To publish his name – Call me cuz-in-law guy.

Happy Birthday Kendra!

   Kendra,
I wish you a happy birthday. You are such a wonderful sister and I would add a marvelous aunt to my kids. To think when you were born, the price of gas at the pump was 28 cents! And to buy a house the average price was around $22,000. That's in the DC  area! How times have changed in JUST 40 years. May the next forty years be filled  with gladness of heart.
Love,
Keith

40th!

Whatever you do celebrate your 40th to the max (as if you'd do anything else!). Some people I know had a hard time with the big 40, can't say I understood, it was just another birthday and a reason to celebrate being around. Make the most of it and know that I'll be thinking of you and wishing you the best. I do cherish our friendship and will always remember fun times like rafting (the one shoe on look), Austria (touring San Moritz) and many great parties and concerts.

Happy Birthday Kendra

Kendra,
It was just a few months ago when we first met. I will never forget my
birthday that you and John helped me celebrate at midnight on a beautiful
terrace in Italy eating and drinking wine. I wish Terri and I could help you
celebrate your 40th but I know it will be special. Best wishes for a Buon
Compleanno.

Ciao,
Roberto

40th Birthday wish for Kendra!

Kendra:

Happy 40th! It must be nice to be so young. Though, in many ways I do
believe life gets better the older we get (up to a point - anyway). So - go
ahead and party like its 1999! Oh, and it helps to celebrate with a good
beer. Wine is fine, but a good beer is incredible. All kidding aside, I
hope your 40th is a good one and that you have many, many, more wonderful
birthdays.

Your friend,

Ken M.

Happy Birthday Kendra!

K -
Ah the Not-So-Big 40!  It ain't nothing but a number!  Think of it more as a speedometer - it's a gauge on how fast you are enjoying life and the wonderful friends and family you've touched.  Given the amount of warm thoughts on your blog, I'd say you need to drive at least 80!  So use every year from here on out to continue sharing life with those that love you!  You've got a great start - a great husband and more people that would lay down their lives for you than you could count!  keep it up Missy - you're doing it right!  Can't wait to celebrate the start of the next 40 with you!

        Your bud,  Ron

Happy Birthday Ms. Bealor

Ms. Bealor,
It is with great authority and conviction that I offer you my most sincere and heartfelt congratulations on your 40th birthday.  While my duties prevent me from spending more time with you and getting to know you personally, I am told you do an OK job.  Our Agency was built on people doing OK jobs, and therefore, our Agency was built on people like you.  In fact, I would call you the foundation of our fine institution - you could be the room next to the gym (in the basement in case you never knew we had one).
    Keep up the OK work!

Happy 40!

Kendra, You are the best aunt a niece could ever ask for! Enjoy a new decade, I
am sure it will treat you well!
In our opinion, the hottest woman in Hollywood are over 40!!

Love you lots! Summer & Jacobe

Happy Birthday, Kendra!

The first episode of Star Trek was aired in September 1966. Miranda
–v- Arizona was decided by the Supreme Court. Walt Disney died. The
Sound of Music was the picture of the year. Medicare began. CBS
would not air the movie, PSYCHO because it was too violent. In Cold
Blood, by Truman Capote was the #1 book. The Dick van Dyke show, Mary
Tyler Moore and Bill Cosby in I SPY, won Emmy awards. Postage stamps
were five cents. The Record of the Year was "A Taste of Honey," by
Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Kendra was born. WHAT A YEAR!

Happy Birthday, Kendra!

To the World-Never-Weary-Traveler on the Brink of Her 40th Birthday

It's gotta be having a zest for life that keeps you so
young, along with an adoring husband and family. A pox
on 40, I'm older and wiser than you (remember the
precious 17 days!) so I say with complete authority
that on the eve of entry into my 4th decade, I am
staring it in the face and nary a shudder.

Your laughter and smiles are permanently fixed in my
mind, my childhood so happy--almost singlehandedly due
to you and our incredibly long and zealous bike rides
down Sand Alley and up Flower Lane into the land of
the Deep Purple. I'll stop there, well maybe an IRONIC
BIONIC ratatattatt or two... but beyond that...oh and
maybe a nice stop in the ebb and flow of 80's music...
and maybe dinners and a shared bottle of wine while
Faye happily watches Chittichitti Bang Bang.

Enough already. You are truly wonderful and really,
really grace this earth and all our lives with your
presence. A hurrah to 40, another year no less special
than all the rest, and a big Happy Birthday hug.

Love,
Cas, Faye and Sebastien

Kendras 40th!

Happy 40th Birthday Kendra!

And welcome to the OVER THE HILL CLUB! Actually, you only get better with age, just like fine wine!

We’re looking forward to celebrating your 40th and many, many more with you.  We know you’ll have a great time in Taos for the special day.

I can’t think of a better place for you and John to celebrate.

Your friends,

Tom & Tina

Happy 40 Kendra Dee

Happy Birthday Kendra Dee!!!   When I think of the few but special times we have spent together a two memories come to mind.  The first would be our infatuation with a particular European  ----- remember ROBERTO!!!  (Sorry John, girls will be girls!!)  What a great cruise!!!  My second favorite Kendra Dee moment was the weekend we canoed at the Chalet.  How many bottles of wine can two women drink while floating in a canoe???  The secret is safe with me!  There are so many more funny times but these I know you remember well!

I hope the next decade of life brings just as many fun memories as this one did.  You are an incredible, beautiful, caring woman and I love being your friend and a part of your family.  Your spirit lifts me every time I see you.  Keep shining brightly and know that you are truly loved by many!!!

Happy Birthday!!

Wow! I can't believe you are the fabulous 4-0! It doesn't seem that long
ago that the house on Upland was pulsing with the tunes of Duran Duran, and
Summer and I were sneaking upstairs to try on all of your jewelry. Time
flies! You're still looking great, girl :) Hope you enjoy your birthday and
the many more to come... -Amy

Wishing you a wonderful 40th!

Kendra-
I recall the two of us talking about our 40th's so many year's ago when we worked together. Can't believe the time has arrived. Enjoy your day and hope to see you soon!

Birthday Wishes for Kendra

Happy Big-4-0 !!!

I can't believe you are turning 40!  You know that most of my "Kendra memories" are from our younger years.  I'll save you the embarrassment from the other bloggers and won't relive those days right now. :-)   It would suffice to say that I would love for you and John to visit Cincinnati so we could relive some of those memories in the present.... Kings Island, Reds baseball games, Larosa's Pizza, Cincinnati chili, etc.

Sorry I am not there in person to help you celebrate, but I will be there in spirit.  Thanks for being my "favorite cousin" for 40 years.  Of course, I have to acknowledge the other "favorite counsins" who will be reading this site, but that is just one of the many blessings in this family.  We're all favorite cousins to each other.

Have a fantastic birthday!

Liz's wishes for the birthday girl

H....o.....n.....e...y.................it's your birthday, it's your birthday!!!!  ( can't sing worth a darn but hey, love is in the heart - SMILE)

I remember turning 40 and thinking, oh my gosh, how fast the years creep up on ya - BUT.........speaking from experience, they will be some of your best.  You know who you are, you know what you want, you know where you are going, and with that knowledge, you can set your course and make your 40's fabulous.

Now you my dear Kendra, have another bonus, you don't look a day over 34 - good genes run in the family and I am glad to be part of your family.

Just know that we in Germany are thinking of you and that we wish we could be there to celebrate your special day - and most of all, that we LOVE YA!!!!
